Founded in 1953, NDC has evolved from a small buying cooperative of independent health care distributors into a unique health care supply chain company.
Key milestones in our company’s rich history:
Associated Buyers Co. (ABCO Dealers) was founded as a cooperatively-owned organization, established to bring independent health care distributors together to pool their purchasing power, thereby enabling independent distributors to compete more effectively in the marketplace.
ABCO Dealers created a unique warehouse program to serve its members, increase product access, and enhance their competitiveness.
ABCO Dealers acquired StarLine Dealers Association, another buying cooperative established in 1986 comprising independent healthcare distributors.
National Distribution & Contracting, Inc. (NDC) was created as the parent corporation to both ABCO Dealers and StarLine Dealers.
NDC acquired a third buying group — the Central Independent Dealer Association (CIDA), which had been operating since 1979.
NDC acquired its first buying group comprising independent distributors serving the dental market—American Dental Cooperative (ADC), which was founded in 1976.
MedPlus was established as a separate division of NDC to serve non-member distributors.
NDC acquired United Dental Dealers (UDD), another buying group serving the dental market since 1995.
NDC consolidated ABCO, StarLine, and CIDA to form one company with a national presence, and opened a distribution center in Sparks, Nevada (2008 - 2016), to better serve independent distributors on the west coast.
NDC founded MedChain Supply, a unique division that provides sophisticated and flexible fulfillment capabilities for our customers.
NDC consolidated American Dental Cooperative (ADC) and United Dental Dealers (UDD) to form NDC Dental.
NDC acquired MOtion1, a buying group of distributors serving the physical therapy and rehabilitation market.
NDC embarked on a new strategic direction to provide expanded and comprehensive supply chain solutions to health care distributors and manufacturers.
Main Street Vaccines becomes a subsidiary of NDC, Inc. For over 15 years, Main Street has provided 7,000+ physicians access to group contracts with leading vaccine manufacturers.
